God is God, and I am not. Which means I have a choice to make over and over again each day. Will I let go and let God work? Or will I continue to ride on the hamster wheel of my mind and default to crazy making?
God is God.
Life has a way of presenting challenges, doesn’t it? And often, at least in my experience, the challenges are way too big for me to handle. But I try. Unfortunately, I will often try to handle the challenges with my own strength or wisdom. And whenever I make that choice, there are problems.
Philippians 4:6-7 ” Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
God is God, and I am not. I think that might be why, when I try to step into His role I cannot sleep. I lie awake trying to find solutions to problems that are absolutely out of my control, or as I joke around at times – they are “out of my pay grade.” Isn’t it easier to go to God and present my concerns and needs, thank Him for the multitude of blessings He has placed in my life and receive His peace?
Friend, there is no way that our minds can handle life apart from God. There is no way that we can change and deeply impact the lives of those in our community apart from His hand being in it.
Psalm 29:11 “The LORD gives His people strength. The LORD blesses them with peace.”
Psalm 46:1-2 “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.”
Why? Because God is God, and we are not. His mighty hand is ready to save. His wisdom exceeds our understanding. He is more than capable to move the mountains in our lives – He is, afterall, the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
Friend, are you fearful? Seek God. Alone? Seek God. Scared? Seek God. Need wisdom? Seek God. Sick? Seek God. Dying? Seek God. Overwhelmed? Seek God. Confused? Seek God. Lost? Seek God. Needing comfort? Seek God. Exhausted? Seek God.
When we seek Him, we will find Him. Why? Because God is God, and we are not.
LORD, we are amazed that You see and know so clearly each and every need that is in our hearts today. You see our pasts, You see our present circumstances, and You see our futures. And not only do You see them, You hold them all. Thank You for not ever giving up on us. Thank You for allowing us to come to You just as we are and hearing us. Thank You for providing for us in ways that we cannot see or understand. You are faithful and good. Your ways are higher and better than we can imagine. LORD, help us to stop trying to be in control, or take over “fixing” the struggles we are dealing with. Instead, guide us to You. The One who is God, and will make miracles out of our lives and circumstances. We love You. Help us to keep our eyes on You. In Jesus’ name,
Blessings!
thank you
