Have you ever stopped to think about what we include God in and what we choose not to?
If we would pause and think about this – I mean really do some introspection – I believe what we would discover might shock ourselves! We include God in those times where we are afraid for our own livelihood or the health of a loved one. If we go to church, we might include God in an hour or so of our lives each week while we sit in a service.
But is there more? Obviously there is more to life than sickness and Sunday mornings! So are we including God – inviting God – to be a part of the other pieces of our lives?
Am I inviting God into my home? Am I asking God to be involved in my marriage, my relationship with my children, with my extended family, in my hobbies, and in my day to day at home routines?
Am I inviting God into my work life? Am I asking God to use me in ways that would bring Him into my relationships and even work production on a day-to-day basis? Am I working at my job as if I am working unto the LORD? Am I seeking His leading and relying on Him for guidance and help when my work-life threatens to overwhelm me?
Am I inviting God to be involved in my social life? Is God being included in the activities I participate in? Am I living a life of integrity and godly character with my friends? Do my friends even know that I am in a relationship with God?
Am I inviting God to be a part of my finances? Am I giving God time in my schedule to connect with Him? Am I inviting God to create passions within me for that which is truly important? Am I giving God free-reign over my present, and my future days to come?
Here’s why I ask: God wants to be a part of all of it. All of it. Why? Because He adores us. He wants what is best for us. He wants intimacy with us. He wants us to desire the same from Him. He wants us to trust all that we are, all that we have, and all that we will ever be into His capable hands. God isn’t trying to ruin our lives or rob us from fun – no God desires us to live in a way that sets us up for His blessings!
God wants to be included in every part of our lives. The good, the bad, and even the ugly.
“The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand.” (Psalm 37:23-24)
There isn’t a part of our lives that God isn’t interested in. He wants to be included. He wants to bless us. He loves us that much.
Blessings!
