There is no cry – no need – that God has not already seen and known. God is aware of my pain. He hears my voice. He understands my situation as well as my heart.
When I find myself in a deep valley – when life seems like more than I can possibly bear for even another moment – God is still present. Watching. Waiting. Moving.
“For I have looked down on my people in mercy and have heard their cry.” (1 Samuel 9:16b) How blessed are we as God’s people to have One who sees, who hears, who knows, and who holds the power to save and restore!
God’s desire is for us to be in a relationship with Him. He wants us to realize just how near our Holy Father is. He wants us to seek Him. He wants us to trust Him to meet our needs. God knows that we are broken and messy people. He knows that we have all fallen short of His glory. We have no right to enter into His presence, and yet He continues to forgive us and free us from our sins. He continues to provide for us, and love us.
“Don’t be afraid,” Samuel reassured them. “You have certainly done wrong, but make sure now that you worship the LORD with all your heart, and don’t turn your back on Him. Don’t go back to worshipping worthless idols that cannot help or rescue you – they are totally useless! The LORD will not abandon His people, because that would dishonor His great name. For it has pleased the LORD to make you His very own people.” (1 Samuel 12:20-22)
God can be trusted. As His people, God is for us. God is with us. “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)
Bring your needs, your hurts and your heart to the LORD.
Blessings!
