God does not call people only to abandon them or leave them to their own abilities or resources. God does not typically call or appoint those who mankind would appoint, either. God sees what we do not see. God knows what we cannot know. And yet, every time that God calls, He equips them with all they need to fill that call.
How does God do this equipping? How does He know what we will need? Intimacy. The closer we place ourselves to others the easier it is both to see their strengths and their weaknesses. We get a better understanding of why they do what they do. How they think. How they act. We understand better the more we know others, and yet we are so much more limited in our understanding of one another than God is with His people.
Again, God sees what we cannot see. God knows what we cannot know.
God says, “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5 God sees the potential and places the call on us well before we are actually even conceived and born! God know us in depths of intimacy that we cannot even comprehend! This is why He knows so well each and every need that will arise and can meet it.
God is not interested in our excuses for why we cannot fill the call He has placed on us. God is seeking obedience and trust in Him. “The LORD replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the LORD, have spoken.” – Jeremiah 1:7-8
God has not given us a spirit of fear or timidity. God has empowered us through His anointing and His Spirit to go and speak whatever He tells us. We do not need to fear. God’s hand of protection is consistently upon us. His promise is to protect and provide for us.
God may send us to do mighty things, but He does not send us out with limited resources. Regardless of the size of the task, God provides the strength and support we need. “For see, today I have made you strong like a fortified city that cannot be captured, like an iron pillar or a bronze wall. You will stand against the whole land – the kings, officials, priests, and people of Judah. They will fight you, but they will fail. For I am with you, and I will take care of you. I, the LORD, have spoken.” – Jeremiah 1:18-19
God is not saying that our calling will come without conflict. He is not saying that it will be an easy road. He says, “they will fight you.” Expect it. And, take heart. God also says, “I am with you… I will take care of you.” If He says it, He means it.
God is with you. God is for you. God will take care of you. God has supplied you with all you need to walk in obedience to His call upon your life.
Blessings!
