“I am the LORD, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?’ (Jeremiah 32:27)
I’ll admit it. Sometimes, I do think that there are certain situations or problems that are too hard for God. There are things that happen that make me believe this lie. God is slow to change my circumstances (or at least slower than I would like Him to be). God does not seem to provide for what I believe He should: good and healthy relationships, finances, employment, health, possessions – and doubt arises about the sovereignty of God, and the extent of His power.
There is a sort of disconnect within myself as to what I know to be true about God and what I feel to be true of God. In the moment. In the circumstance. I wish this wasn’t so. God deserves so much better!
God’s word is true. There is nothing that is too hard for Him. There is nothing in all of creation that was not created by His hands. His power is not some cosmic bank account that diminishes with use. God’s power knows no end, and is not tied to the laws of nature. God does not make mistakes. He does not absentmindedly miss the needs of some, while randomly blessing and providing for others. He is intentional. He is all-powerful. He sees all. Knows all. He is ever present.
Friend, I have no doubt that in your life, and perhaps even right now, you are experiencing some problems. Perhaps the only response that you are seeming to get from heaven is silence. The provision has not yet come, but the doubts have. Does God see? Does He care? Is He capable of helping me? Is this mountain too big for Him to move? Is my voice falling on deaf ears?
May I remind you that truth cannot be changed. Feelings can, and often are easily moved like a pendulum connected to our circumstances – but truth does not change. There isn’t anything that is too hard for God. Period.
“O Sovereign LORD! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you! You show unfailing love to thousands, but you also bring the consequences of one generations sin upon the next. You are the great and powerful God, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. You see the conduct of all people, and you give them what they deserve. You performed miraculous signs and wonders in the land of Egypt – things still remembered to this day! And you have continued to do great miracles in Israel and all around the world. You have made your name famous to this day.” (Jeremiah 32:17-20)
God is capable. God can be trusted. His strength and power know no limits. So lay your burdens in His capable hands. Rest in His loving arms. Wait and watch what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies can do.
Blessings!
