The Cure For Your Hurt

  • Post author:

Ever feel attacked? Ever actually been attacked? There’s a toll, right? Not just a physical one, but an emotional one.

If you are there, here’s what I would ask you to do: Stop trying to heal yourself. Stop looking to people for healing. Stop attempting to fill the cracks of your heart with every thing you can get your hands on. None of those ways are effective. Period.

“Then what can I do, Michelle? I’m really hurting…”

I get that. We all get wounded this way at some point, don’t we? It’s painful. It’s impactful. Yet there is a cure. This cure has a name, and it’s name is Jesus. A person, you say? Yeah. A person who was also God walking among us. A one of a kind.

This cure – this Jesus – sees and even feels your wounds. He understands the pain you feel. He’s aware of your circumstances and friend, he’s waiting for you to come to Him seeking what only He can offer. In Him and Him alone, we find healing. In Him and Him alone, we find forgiveness and purpose. In Him and Him alone, we are both known and loved.

I don’t know what is at the root of your hurt, nor do I necessarily know the words or actions that have ripped holes in your heart – but I DO know that regardless – He remains the answer to your healing.

God makes all things new.

He is the God who sees.

He will redeem and restore.

Jesus is calling out words of love and value. Mankind may not. Mankind wounds. Mankind assumes. Mankind devalues. So who will you listen to? The voice of Jesus or the voice of man?

“The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” (Jeremiah 31:3)

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” (1 John 3:1)

“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.” (Titus 3:4-5)

Jesus holds the answers to your hurts and mine. May we choose this day to listen to the One who speaks truth.

Blessings!
