Search For The LORD

God isn’t really interested in our having a casual approach toward Him. He isn’t really a “casual” God. He is, however, passionate. Loving. “The LORD is compassionate, and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.” (Psalm 103:8)

God’s love for us exceeds what we can comprehend or fathom. “For His unfailing love toward those who fear Him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. The LORD is like a father to His children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.” (Psalm 103:11-13)

God’s love for us is so deep, and so intimate that while He sees each and every sin we commit, He has provided a way for us to be forgiven and freed. God’s love for us is so great, that He was willing to sacrifice that which was most dear to Him, His son, so that we could be saved. Not because we deserved it. Not due to our merit. This gift is ours only because of God’s love for us.

It is because of this love, forgiveness, and mercy, that we should never stop praising God. “I will sing to the LORD as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath! May all my thoughts be pleasing to Him, for I rejoice in the LORD.” (Psalm 104:33-34)

Is it possible to be so overcome – so overwhelmed with life, that we forget or downplay the love that God has showered upon us? Yes. Is it possible that we experience the love and blessings of our beloved, and yet still consistently miss the acts of love done on our behalf? Yes.

This is why we must increase our effort to stay connected with Him. “Search for the LORD and for His strength; continually seek Him. Remember the wonders He has performed, His miracles, and the rulings He has given.” (Psalm 105:4-5)

LORD open our eyes to see your mighty hand at work in us and around us. May we never forget or become blind to your love. Help us to remember your undeserved grace, and your unending love for us.

Blessings!
