Leave All To Me

“Leave all to me.” (From the devotion book, God Calling.) Leave. All. To me.

It’s amazing to me that this is the call of our Father. I understand that he would be willing to take the “all” from those who are his most intimate friends – those like Moses or Elijah. Yet this call – this offer – is not just for a few elite. God extends this offer to each of us. It is up to us to determine if we will actually allow it to happen.

Leave all to me.

This means:

I do not need to worry about my nation, but rather I need to lay it in God’s capable hands. I can leave it with him. He has a plan.

I can take my pain – the physical, mental, and emotional pain – and leave it all with him. Regardless of the outcome, I give it to God. I do not need to stress about it. I do not need to fret about it. I am only to leave it with God.

Each relationship issue – I leave with him. Each financial concern – I leave with him. God wants it all. He desires for us to hold nothing back and to release everything to him.

I don’t know about you, but there have been a few people in my life who seem like they would do just about anything to help me. I’m sure there have been limits to this – but they love so well, that they desire to help whenever possible. And yet, even if we have been blessed to know a few people this generous – they don’t hold a candle to our Heavenly Father and his ability to provide.

So, we are told to “Leave all to me.”

This means, we leave it. We don’t just speak to God and share the worries, concerns, and needs, while then continuing to try to function under their heavy load. No. We share it. We leave it. We do not pick it back up. Instead, we entrust it to God.

Friend, I believe that God can be trusted. I have known God to be trustworthy with all things – not just some things. I believe God cares so deeply about us and desires a relationship with us, that he actually loves it when we come to him with both the big and small things.

It isn’t that God doesn’t already know. God sees what we can’t see and knows what we cannot possibly know. God has a plan. God has a purpose. God is completely in control – even when the world around us seems to be in complete and utter chaos. None of this garbage limits him. None of the evils overpower or phase him. We may not know what to do – but God always knows.

I want to leave you with some words out of the book of Nehemiah. “Stand up and praise the LORD your God, for he lives from everlasting to everlasting!” “May your glorious name be praised! May it be exalted about all blessing and praise! You alone are the LORD. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you.” “And you have done what you promised, for you are always true to your word.” (Chapter 9:5-6, 8)

Leave all with him. He is the hope of the world.

Blessings!
